Here are my DC pics from Spring Break.  There's the monuments, places I've visited, ppl I've met, ppl I've gone w/ from school.. :0)

My Picture

Thoughts:

-First snow, first trip THIS far...  The farthest was Ohio.

-Women and Congress Seminar by PLEN was inspiring.  I think I could be a congresswoman in the future.

-I'm thinking of adding a Poli Sci minor, but I don't want to over do it.

-I love DC!  it's so freakin cold...  but i love the change in scenery, the buildings, the historical feel, the way everyone talks about politics, how everyone is so into the news and reading, how issues are that important...  I think that if it were possible, I would try a fellowship for a year or do a semester in American University just to check it out.  It's somewhere I definitely want to go back to.

-I really want to travel more, even if it's just in the US.  I'm not ready to venture forth in other countries.  I just want to see how other people interact, the change in scenery, the history behind the textbooks that I've read since elementary school...

-Dude, instead of knowing what route to take after college, I reverted back to knowing one main thing: I want to help people.  I know it sounds so trite and that everyone wants to help ppl.  But that is the only certain aspect I know for sure.  That's my passion.  Trying to come up with a path or a form to follow is another thing.  I'm not going to change what I'm studying; I think that it would be a waste of time and $ to do that.  I'll just see where God takes me.

Bible geek 11/14

-kinda was like, whoa...

It costs EVERYTHING to belong to Christ but next to nothing to “belong” to a Church.  That is the difference conversion makes, both for the young man in today’s passage and for the person in the pew on the average Sunday.
Christianity is more than “being present”, it is living in HIS presence.

My friend, the late Mike Yaconelli once wrote, “What happened to the bone-chilling, earth-shattering, knee-knocking, heart-stopping, life-altering awe of God that leaves us speechless, paralyzed, helpless and glad?  We have ended up with a “feel good” gospel that attracts thousands, but transforms no one.  How did our awe of God get reduced to a likewarm appreciation of God?  How did God become our pal instead of a heart-stopping presence?  Why aren’t we
continually catching our breath saying, ‘This is no ordinary God!’?

God does not thrive in a comfort zone.
